Tell us about your organization, tradition, or event. Many commissions begin with only a simple description.

Each piece is individually crafted and finished by Harold Epps in the Canyon Crest workshop in Mission Viejo, California.

Many Canyon Crest Woodworks pieces begin as custom commissions for collectors, clubs, and organizations.

Each commission begins with one of our core forms — Sentinel, Octave, or Medallion — and is then personalized through engraving, materials, and symbolic elements that reflect the story behind the piece.

Recent commissions have included work for:

• law enforcement commemorative pieces
• veteran motorcycle club editions
• custom hot-rod culture designs
• personal heirloom cigar ashtrays

Every Canyon Crest Woodworks commission begins with a core form — Sentinel, Octave, or Medallion — and is then personalized through engraving and symbolic elements.

Most commissions follow one of these three design paths.

1. Canyon Crest Design (Included)

For most commissions, I create the engraving layout using the imagery, symbols, or themes you describe.

Design development at this level is included in the base price of the piece.

Examples include:

• law enforcement insignia
• military emblems
• fishing scenes
• automotive themes
• commemorative inscriptions

Customers simply describe the story or idea behind the piece, and I develop the engraving concept.

2. Customer-Supplied Artwork

Customers are welcome to provide their own logos, sketches, or artwork.

Common examples include:

• club logos
• badge artwork
• company marks
• event graphics

For best results, vector files (SVG, AI, PDF) or high-resolution images are recommended.

Artwork will be adapted as needed to ensure it engraves cleanly and accurately.

3. Advanced Custom Design

For projects requiring significant illustration, composition work, or multiple revisions, additional design services may be available.

Examples include:

• fully custom engraved scenes
• complex mural-style engravings
• restoration of low-quality logos
• multi-element compositions

Advanced design work is quoted separately depending on the complexity of the project
