At Canyon Crest, materials are selected for rarity, character, permanence, and the role they play in the story of the piece. Figured grain, contrasting hardwoods, solid brass, stone, and refined interior materials create a level of visual and tactile distinction that cannot be achieved with ordinary stock alone.

FIGURED WALNUT

Selected for movement, depth, and individual character. Walnut remains the foundation of Canyon Crest, with highly figured and burl selections used where the grain itself should become part of the design.

CONTRASTING HARDWOODS

Koa, Macassar ebony, ziricote, quilted maple, burl, and other distinctive hardwoods are used selectively to introduce contrast, rarity, and visual depth. The goal is not to add more species. It is to create a more deliberate and unmistakably elevated object.

BRASS, STONE & REFINED INTERIORS

Solid brass, bronze, slate, glass, suede, leather, and premium hardware add weight, texture, permanence, and a more complete sense of craftsmanship. These materials change how the piece looks, feels, opens, closes, and ages over time.

WHY MATERIALS MATTER

Luxury is often perceived through details that are difficult to imitate: exceptional grain, precise hardware, uncommon materials, refined transitions, and surfaces that reward close inspection.

A premium commission should feel valuable before its price is explained.
